Ravenhill Nursery is a propagation nursery which sells shrubs and natives to wholesale/trade customers on a contract basis, i.e., we produce what the customer orders. As well as this, through the online store, we offer herbaceous perennials, exotic shrubs and natives to the general public.

The perennials are a major passion of mine, and I have been working with herbaceous perennials within the garden, nursery and landscape industries for the last 25 years. I have long wanted to offer for sale a range of herbaceous perennials that are garden-worthy, easy to grow and affordable.

Our aim is to be able to provide our plants in 5, 9 and or 11 cm pots (see FAQ if unsure of sizing), so you can either place them straight in your garden or on-grown for planting at a later date. By selling within these sizes we are trying to make planting in groups of 3, 5 or 7, etc. more affordable for you, while still providing excellent quality plants.

All the plants for sale on our website, have been propagated by us and grown here at Ravenhill Nursery.  We are a valley within a valley in Okoia, Wanganui, and are often subjected to frosts of -3 degrees and some down to -6 degrees, giving you a hardy plant to grow.

We will be adding new plants all the time and are continuing to propagate like mad, plus expanding and fine tuning the range we can offer you.  We have included plants that will be ready soon, i.e., potted and just need a little longer to fully root.
