Penstemon Andenken an Friedrich Hahn syn P. Garnet

Penstemon Andenken an Friedrich Hahn syn P.Garnet is a statement in any border, no wonder it has been awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. It is a great Penstemon to grow if you require longevity, an older variety that stands the test of time.
Smooth, dark green, narrow leaves make up the bushy, semi-evergreen foliage. Brilliant spires, of red bell flowers, toned pink and also a blue tinge that makes P.Garnet distinct from the other red penstemons. These erect spikes stand above the foliage from mid-summer right until mid to late autumn. The bold coloured spires will attract bees.
Hardy, and easy to grow, plant this Penstemon in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny site and watch it thrive.
Tip. Penstemons do not require a fertile soil, just adding fertiliser at planting will suffice. Too much fertiliser will cause excessive die back in winter
