Aster Island Samoa
Aster Island Samoa is a reliable dwarf / low growing aster which is compact and avoids the pitfalls of some of the aster family, requiring no staking and is not susceptible to mildew. It is bred for its profusion of flowers from summer through to autumn, providing a reliable splash of colour. Its a great pick me up for the garden when other flowers have begun to fade.
Arising from the lush clump of bright green foliage is a mass of double, in-curved flowers. These daisy-like flowers are vibrantly coloured, in a deep pink to purple shades.
The flowers are ideal for popping in a vase. In the garden, it will attract pollinators such as bees.
These easy to maintain, fully hardy plants reach their full potential in a sunny site with free-draining soil but thrive in most conditions.
THIS PLANT CAN BE WINTER DORMANT IN AREAS THAT ARE PRONE TO FROSTS.
