I feel I hardly need to introduce the buxus commonly known as Box to you; it has long been used as one of the top hedging plants within the garden. It quite rightly earns this mantle by being versatile in the height it can be successfully grown. From a low edging hedge to a taller back hedge, acting as a foil to show off the colourful herbaceous perennials before it. Buxus Sempervirens can also be toparied to add that all year round interest within your herbaceous border.
Buxus is not fussy about soil conditions, ensuring it does not get water- logged and prefers partial shade but will tolerate full sun.
Do not clip too tightly this will allow adequate air flow throughout the foliage, helping to avoid damp, moist conditions required by blight.
