Coreopsis verticillata Moonbeam

$5.99

I would not be without Coreopsis Moonbeam in my garden; it always looks stunning whatever it is planted next to and is such an easy care plant. If left to its own devices it will flower continuously,  but if you feel inclined to deadhead, they always look fresh. Alternatively, trimming as the first flowers fade will keep the growth compact, and you will have a second flush of flowering in autumn. (The species Coreopsis verticillata will seed around, however C.v. Moonbeam is a sterile form, so will not seed)

The foliage forms bushy mounds of branching stems reaching 50-60 cm (taller than its close relative C.v. Zagreb) holding pinnate leaves with mid-green linear leaflets, giving a delicate ferny appearance. From early summer these mounds are smothered in a continuous succession of beautiful lemon-yellow star-shaped flowers, right through to autumn.

This plant is not affected by drought, heat or humidity and is relatively pest and disease free. It performs best in full sun and poor or dry soils but will cope with semi-shade and most soil types (if too fertile it will sprawl more and require a trim.) Wow, what a plant!

THIS PLANT CAN BE WINTER DORMANT IN AREAS THAT ARE PRONE TO FROSTS.
