Geranium x oxonianum ? Rebecca Moss
G. x oxonianum is one of the taller ground covering geraniums and at 60 cm is an effective weed smothering plant. It forms thick mounds of light olive-green leaves that are semi-evergreen and palmate in shape. Held above this foliage are saucer shaped pale pink flowers ranging to a deeper pink which are delicately veined and borne from late spring throughout summer, sometimes autumn as well. We are unsure of the exact variety of this geranium at the moment, the picture of it shows the deeper and lighter pink in its colour range.
This geranium is a robust and adaptable plant capable of growing in any soil (as long as it is not water- logged). The ideal conditions for Geranium x oxonianum are moderately fertile soil in either full sun or partial shade.
G.x oxonianum is a low maintenance plant that can be used on banks, within your border, as a ground cover or for under planting.
THIS PLANT IS WINTER DORMANT IN AREAS THAT ARE PRONE TO FROSTS.
