Hemerocallis Stella de Oro
H.Stella de Oro is a plant that has become arguably the most popular Daylily in cultivation, mainly due to its compact growth and long flowering.
The circular bright yellow ruffled flowers have an even deeper yellow throat and are borne on naked stems above clumps of arching, blade-like leaves 30 cm in height.
As a deciduous Hemerocallis, the strappy foliage emerges in spring providing a lovely fresh green within your border, when not a lot is flowering. The freshness remains this way throughout the year. The flowers open just for one day, hence the common name Daylily, however, the plant produces a continuous free flowering display of new blooms over an exceptionally long period from spring to late summer. This more than compensates for the shortness of the individual flower.
The fragrant flowers will attract bees to your garden.
It is an excellent plant for edging, mass planting or specimen planting within your border. This plant thrives in full sun or partial shade and will tolerate most garden soils, making this a must have garden plant!
THIS PLANT ISWINTER DORMANT.
