Salvia chamaedryoides Blue Ribbon

S.Blue Ribbon is a beautiful low growing shrubby evergreen Salvia, staying compact and tight around its woody base.

The grey-green leaves are covered with fine hairs and are smaller than a lot of the sage family in appearance; they are fragrant when crushed. Its common name is Silver Germander Sage. Through summer, the branched stems produce an abundance of delicate, intense blue flowers that draw you towards this impressive Salvia.

Growing to only 50cm, Blue Ribbon is perfect to nestle on the edge of a border, infilling or even to grow in containers.

Position in a sunny site and light, moderately fertile soil with adequate drainage; it is very tolerant of heat, once established.
