V. longifolia, Speedwell or Bird's eye is a hardy, upright perennial. During summer and autumn, it proudly boasts tall flower spikes, blanketed in flowers.
The spikes are showy and dense, clustered with lilac-blue flowers and are held on unbranched stems above the mid green foliage of long lance-shaped leaves. The flowers are very useful for adding an upright dimension to your border.
This perennial will always be covered in bees and is excellent for a cut flower arrangement. Plant in full sun or semi-shade and most soils as long as they are well-drained and you will be rewarded by long blooming from this easy care plant.
THIS PLANT IS WINTER DORMANT
